  • infraestructure logistics plan

More than 120,000 jobs in the region

The Government of the Community of Madrid is driving the Logistics Infrastructure Plan, which will be carried out over the next 12 years, through public-private partnership models.
It will involve an investment exceeding 4,500 billion euros in urban development, over 7,000 million euros in building costs, the development of more than 35,000 million square meters of land, and creating over 120,000 jobs in 14 municipalities of the Madrid Region.

    Plan proposals

The plan is a logistic model that responds to the needs identified in order to boost the economy and foreign trade in our region:

    • Organize and plan the transport in Madrid, also with an international perspective. This will decrease road traffic in favour of the railways.
    • Enhance rail transport and intermodality, to free up existing traffic and encourage mobility.
    • Create new logistics infrastructures with a specific functional design.

    Actions

    • The new Intermodal Platform of Madrid, near the future airport of Campo Real, with a planned area of 1,350 hectares and equipped with a modern rail terminal.
    • A new rail corridor for freight traffic in the region, servicing the new Intermodal Platform and the Barcelona and Alicante-Andalucia lines.
    • 9 logistics centers and 7 centers of territorial coverage in strategic points of the main and secondary roads in Madrid.
    • Strengthening the existing road network and improvements in regional roads.
    • A new automobile platform, between Pinto and Torrejón de Velasco. 850 hectares dedicated to manufacturers, suppliers and distributors in the industry.
