• CLUSTER network of the CM

The Community of Madrid has identified four strategic sectors from an innovation viewpoint: Aerospace, Biotechnology, ICT for Security and ICT for Audiovisuals. There is a combination of present competitiveness and future possibilities therein.

Furthermore, there are major economic sectors for the CM comprising the so-called natural clusters due to the high number of agents form said sectors, historically determined by the central role of Madrid in Spain.

These include: Madrid Logistics Platform (MPL) which aims to promote the CM as the logistics centre in Southern Europe and a port to America and Asia, and Madrid Financial Centre Association which aims to contribute to developing financial sector business and support, strengthen and promote the Community of Madrid as an international financial centre, being the European and international reference in creating value and cooperation with other markets, especially in Latin America.

In addition, another complex of clusters called emerging clusters should be considered, covering economic sectors with high future potential: Madrid Health and Wellbeing Platform. And the traditional clusters with historical employment importance: Madrid Graphic Arts Platform and Madrid Automobile Platform.

All these Clusters in the Community of Madrid can be considered competitive if compared with those in the US and Europe in terms of employment rate and GDP growth share, therefore enjoying a solid position their growth should be built on.
