Amongst the serviceoffered by the UII, the following are highlights:
- it informs and trains in the open 7FP public announcements
- it organises training activities on the 7FP (general information on the programme, specific announcements, courses on proposal preparation and project management, etc.)
- meets periodically with cluster managers as intermediaries between companies and institutions part of the clusters
- finds project ideas where a member of the Network may fit
- takes part as an intermediary for business which are Network members responding to partner searches and expressions of interest issued by European organisations
- meets with businesses interested in or with the potential for participation
- offers its support in preparing proposals, formulating budgets, identifying potential partners and contacting the latter
- once the proposals are presented, monitor the latter by contacting and lobbying, as far as possible, with national experts and civil servants at the European Commission responsible for each thematic area
- accompanies and supports businesses at the contract negotiation and signature stage with the European Commission
- advises and supports businesses during project performance, including intermediate and final revisions, with the subsequent preparation of activity and financial reports, and acts as an intermediary with the Commission
